Podzámecká zahrada Kroměříž

About this place

Beautiful chateau garden with romantic corners, ponds, and rare trees, ideal for relaxation and exploration.

Podzámecká zahrada, covering 64 hectares, is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its history dates back to the 16th century, when it served as a utility and flower garden, but its current natural landscape park form was acquired in the 19th century. Romantic buildings like Pompeján, Chinese Pavilion, or Fisherman's Pavilion give the place a unique charm.

A walk through the garden offers peaceful paths around ponds, the Morava River, and exotic trees. Children will enjoy the aviaries with birds and animals in the game reserve. In summer, meadows invite picnics, and corners with benches encourage relaxation. Entry is free all year round, making it an ideal place for family trips and romantic walks.

Tip: Don't miss the opportunity to see Pompeján, which is accessible for a small fee and offers a view of the garden. In spring, the garden blooms with thousands of bulbs; in autumn, it blazes with leaf colors. We recommend combining your visit with a tour of the Archbishop's Chateau Kroměříž.
